The experimentation of the in-situ reconstitution treatment, started with the sowing of maize and continued with durum wheat, has allowed us to follow the progress of some important chemical-physical parameters of the soil comparing natural soil and reconstituted soil

The natural soils subject to the in-situ treatment test due to their high fine fraction, the scarcity of organic matter have physical characteristics typical of a degraded soil: poor structural stability, low porosity, crust formation and low surface permeability.

These characteristics were very evident during the experimental tests, especially following the heavy rain events, such as those of May 2024, which caused the formation of a surface crust several mm thick in natural soils. On the contrary, in the reconstituted theses these crusts were not observed and the soil appeared, after the rains, significantly different from the natural, with a much improved structure and permeability.

The observation through the opening of minipit of the different theses in comparison confirmed these differences by showing the different structure of the soils.

The experimentation aimed at in-situ reconstitution and its physical effects on the ground offer further confirmations and open specific addresses for the recovery of all those soils that show physical characteristics typical of a soil with a degraded structure.
