An excellent definition of pedotechnology was provided by Prof. Carmelo Dazzi: the pedotechnics are “all activities which lead or may lead to an increasing influence of man on pedogenesis and pedo-landscapes, either through the selection and evaluation of materials suitable for the construction of soils or through the use of procedures for the change of soil characteristics up to the creation of soils for specific purposes.? (Dazzi et al., 2010)
