ROUND TABLE "THE IMPACT OF ALLUVIONAL EVENTS ON SOIL QUALITY AND THE CULTURAL MANAGEMENT OF AGRICULTURAL HOLDINGS IN ROMAGNOLE: REPRISTING AND BONIFICING TODAY FOR TOMORROW"

The National Academy of Agriculture, paying particular attention to the damage caused to farms by the flooding events of spring 2023, assesses the current impact and considers with particular and careful concern the possible degradation of land in the medium and long term.
At the request of the National Union of Agromechanical and Industrial Counterfeiters (UNCAI), the Italian Association of Dried Forage (AIFE), the Associazione Provinciale Imprese Agricole Meccanico-Agricole-Industriali (APIMAI) of Ravenna, of the Società Cooperativa Agricola Agrintesa, the Academy presents the various proposals for a correct restoration and reclamation of agricultural lands most impacted by the flood and for an objective assessment of the real damage suffered by farms.

A particularly sensitive technical aspect concerns the loss of productivity that the original agricultural soil can suffer if trivially mixed with the covering sediments, causing both physical and chemical imbalances.

Among the various topics to be dealt with related to alluvial events, topics related to the "physical behaviour of alluvial sediments and considerations for the possible reinstatement" and to the "chemical characteristics of alluvial sediments and proposals for their recovery in reconstituted soils" were presented and discussed.

These last topics were presented by Prof. Gilmo Vianello (Deputy President of the National Academy of Agriculture) Prof. Livia Vittori Antisari (Alma Mater University of Bologna); Drs. Paolo Manfredi (President Ecosistemi srl).
