The National Academy of Agriculture is the historical continuation of the Agricultural Society of the Department of the Rhine born in Bologna in 1807 on the initiative of Count Filippo Re, the first holder of the Chair of Agriculture and Rector of the University of Bologna. After the First World War the Society chose the name of Academy of Agriculture and assumed the name of National Academy of Agriculture since 1960 under the guidance of Giuseppe de Medici

The award ceremony was held in Bologna at the Academy's headquarters in the Palazzo dell'Archiginnasio, built between 1562 and 1566, on a project by Francesco Morandi called "Il Terribilia".

The important appointment is a great recognition of the activities carried out that have always been characterized by a deep symbiosis between entrepreneurial activity, study and research; efforts and sacrifices that with the recognition of the title of Academician to the President of Ecosistemi find an important refreshment to the many efforts made and which renew an impetus for the realization of further works.
