The laboratory Ecosistemi was commissioned for the analytical characterisation of soils from the areas of Cervia (Ravenna) one year after the surveys carried out following contamination by sodium chloride dispersed on soils due to the flood front in spring 2023.

Analytical determinations, broken down by horizons of the soils involved in sampling by manual drilling, were carried out to identify the conditions one year after the first characterisation. This activity is also justified by the obvious loss of the production yield of agricultural soils even after two years from the dispersion of salts.
The large mass of sea salt that, dissolved, has been distributed by the hydraulic force of the water, has spread on the surrounding agricultural areas with a heterogeneous trend.
The problem is represented by the consequent effect of the increase in soluble salts, by an increase in salinity in the soils and, in the most severe cases, by the onset of sodity – alkalinity.

Soil aggregates with saline formations (probably carbonates – sulphates)

Laboratories Ecosistemi have been operating for two decades in the field of soil analysis and have gained a wealth of valuable experience to identify the necessary analyses to study the phenomenon and to design the reclamation; to perform the analyses with the appropriate methods, including international ones, in order to have an exact representation of the phenomenon; to express opinions and opinions both on the potential evolution of salinity and soil and agronomic conditions as well as to provide valuable data to design remediation interventions.

The competence of Ecosistemi is the result of his historical experience, in the scientific culture produced by decades of study and practice, in the archive of texts, documents and reports jealously preserved within it.
