Cultivation results obtained on reconstituted lands in experimental plots conducted by Ecosistemi in the Vercesi Farm (Gossolengo - PC).
The reconstituted soil has given very positive existence in production; especially when compared to other nearby plots the soils have had a double production.
Degraded soils subjected to the reconstitution treatment could not originally accommodate maize cultivation; the lack of vocation to this crop was due to high pH, an excess of active limestone, a very strong lack of organic substance; a high imbalance between Potassium, Magnesium and Calcium as well as a number of physical characteristics of the soil that made the production of the species uneconomic. The soils, from the condition of mariginality have become excellent.
All the cultivation works carried out (variety, tillage, date of sowing) were the same in both plots in comparison. In the reconstituted lands, irrigation has been reduced by half and nitrogen fertilisation has also been halved.
