Presentation by the President of Ecosistemi the agreement organized by the National Academy of Agriculture on regenerative agriculture on the restoration works of heavily degraded and desertified soils
Friday 20 February 2026, in the Hall "20 May 2012" of the Emilia-Romagna Region Viale della Fiera 8 ?Terza Torre -Bologna, dr. Paolo Manfredi presented, with a report accompanied by a dynamic video presentation, the concrete possibilities of regeneration of degraded and desertified soils through methods of treatment with the rigorous application of the criteria of soil sciences through pedotechnology.

In addition to the schematic distinction of the types of classes of soil degradation and the exposition of the conceptual model of reconstitution, the President of Ecosistemi, (corresponding member of the National Academy of Agriculture) explained the different methods of intervention with some concrete examples of restitution to fertility of different cases of degraded, desertified soils and entirely compromised areas.

The above illustrates how active interventions are possible, which require short times for the return of soils to fertility and environmental and agronomic functionality, to carry out the regeneration of the land offering important opportunities for the reacquisition of lost areas counteracting the loss of useful agricultural area.
The conference, held on the initiative of the National Academy of Agriculture (www.accademia-agricoltura.it) and the Department of Agriculture and Agri-food, Hunting and Fishing (https://agriculture.regione.emilia-romagna.it/ ) had the participation of the Council of the National Order and the Doctors of Agronomy and Forestry, the Italian Federation of Doctors in Agriculture and Forestry, and the Academies for Agricultural Sciences UNASA.
