Statement by the President of Ecosistemi (Dr. Paolo Manfredi) at the seminar ?Sustainable management and reuse of sediments from artificial reservoirs for the development of a circular economy? with the ? reportRecovery of sediments in fertile reconstituted soils (Anthroposols) for agro-forestry recovery?
The Comitato Italiano Grandi Dighe (ICOLD-CIGB) is a cultural and scientific association that aims to promote and facilitate the study of all the problems associated with dams, their construction and their exercise. The Committee participates in the International Commission for the Great Dams (ICOLD-CIGB), a body created in Paris in 1928 also with the participation of Italy, whose membership was formalized in 1936 with the establishment of the Committee first under the aegis of the Ministry of Public Works, and later since 1984 as a non-profit private law association.
ITCOLD, thanks to the collaboration within REMTECH ESONDA, organized a session dedicated to the world of dams. The seminar dealt with the management and reuse of sediments accumulated in artificial lakes, which represents an environmental and operational criticality for the progressive landfilling of basins, with the consequent serious reduction of the fundamental functions of dams such as accumulation and modulation of water for hydroelectric, industrial, drinking, irrigation, recreational and flood lamination purposes. During the seminar were presented basic lessons concerning the technical-economic assessment of sediment management uses in agriculture, coastal replenishment and extraction sites.
At the invitation of the organizers, did the company participate? Ecosistemi: dr. Paolo Manfredi illustrated the theme of the recovery of sediments in agriculture by configuring the aspects related to physical and chemical fertility.

During his intervention, the doctor illustrated some case studies designed by Ecosistemi based on the theme of the use of pedotechnology of reconstitution applied to sedimentary matrices for their use in agricultural, forestry and environmental restoration interventions.
